A is for assisted—and electric—driving
The Outlander PHEV can operate in EV, Series Hybrid or Parallel Hybrid Mode. Depending on driving conditions and power requirements, the electric motors can drive the vehicle using battery power, the gasoline engine can generate electricity, or the engine and motors can work together. B is for battery
The 2026 Outlander PHEV has a 22.7-kWh lithium-ion drive battery, an official estimated EV range of up to 72 kilometres and an official total driving-range estimate of 690 kilometres with a full charge and full tank. Regenerative braking recovers some energy during deceleration and stores it in the battery. Drivers can adjust regeneration using steering-wheel paddles, while the Innovative Pedal can slow the vehicle when the accelerator is released. The brake pedal is still required to come to a complete stop. C is for charging
The 2026 Outlander PHEV supports Level 1 charging from a dedicated 120-volt outlet, Level 2 charging with compatible 240-volt equipment and DC quick charging. Mitsubishi estimates approximately 6.5 hours for a full charge using compatible 240-volt, 15-amp equipment. A compatible CHAdeMO DC quick charger can bring the battery to approximately 80 percent in about 29 minutes. Conditions and equipment can affect charging times. D is for driver choice
EV Priority Mode prioritizes electric operation, Battery Save Mode preserves the battery’s current charge, and Battery Charge Mode uses the gasoline engine to charge the drive battery.
