October 16th is not just another day on the calendar. It marks World Food Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about global hunger and ensuring access to nutritious food for all. At Vancouver Mitsubishi, we didn’t just mark the date—we drove change.
Our month-long campaign, which kicked off on September 18th, was a pledge to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. We started the initiative with a heartfelt donation of $1000. But that was just the beginning. For every car sold during this period, we committed an additional $100. Each test drive brought in $10, and every service order added another $10 to the fund.
The crescendo of this campaign was reached on Saturday, October 14th. Our showroom transformed into a hub of community spirit and shared purpose. The smell of fresh tacos wafted through the air, as our invited taco truck served up delectable delights. Families, friends, and patrons joined us, sharing stories, laughter, and the joy of giving. It was not just a day to appreciate cars, but a day to appreciate the community we're a part of.
The incredible show of support from our community meant that by the end of our campaign on World Food Day, we raised a whopping $6600! Every penny of this has been donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. It's a sum that speaks volumes about the generosity and compassion of our patrons and the larger community.
Hunger is a pressing issue, and while we can't solve it overnight, initiatives like this ensure that we're moving in the right direction. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who joined us in this drive – whether you purchased a car, took a test drive, serviced your vehicle, or simply dropped by for a taco on the 14th. You have made a difference.
